July 8, 2012, Bob Brinker's Moneytalk: Neale Godfrey Filled In

July 8, 2012...Bob Brinker took the day off. Neale Godfrey filled in........(comments welcome)

Neale Godfrey went over her lengthy resume.  She has written many children's books, worked in banking and opened a bank for women. Godfrey's level of conversation is so simplistic that I almost got the feeling that she forgot that she is talking to adults.

Bob Brinker didn't show much respect for her, or any of his fill-ins (ditto his listeners), back when he was posting with an alias on Silicon Investor.

"Your comments are salient to say the least. Last year I counted the weekends I was forced to endure the likes of William, the Earl of Boredom, Flanagan and Neale, Did You Buy My Latest Book, Godfrey, and the Motley, Greater than all, Fools. It came to a grand total of nine weekends without The Brink's on air presence. Assuming his new contract includes nine or ten weekends off, I would say the odds of him being on vacation during a sell signal are very good to excellent. Wouldn't it be neat to see Brinker issue a sell signal while on vacation from radio, have his subscribers sellout at or near the top, and then see the market collapse with all the radio freeloaders left to fend for themselves when he returns only to tell them the horse is out of the barn and they are on their own! Would not surprise me in the least. Poetic justice!"
Godfrey commented that Bob Brinker was taking a "well-deserved day off." Jim makes a good point.

I just tuned in long enough to hear her say that Bob Brinker is taking a "well deserved" day off. If a person deserves a day off for every nine hours they work then the average american worker deserves a very long vacation.

ACCORDING TO GODFREY WE ARE IN A RECESSION:

Godfrey did not talk about investing.  She wanted to talk about the "recession." She must not know that Bob Brinker claims that those who say there will be a recession are "riding on the ship of fools." And she must be ignorant of economic data because we have not been in recession for some time. Indeed, economic growth is small, but it is still growth.

Godfrey's topics, she said: "The economy, not only here, but overseas as well. We live in one globe....Let's talk about how the recession has hit your home, and what you would like to do to fix it. The recession has affected all of us. Are you looking for a job? Have you recently gotten a job? Have you recently gotten laid off? What are you doing? What are the things that are bothering you? We want to talk about your life, your world, the globe, the economy. How are we together going to fix our problems. We can learn from each other today. Be part of the show. Pick up the phone."

While Godfrey sounded like she was dying to hear the callers talk about all that fascinating material, it was cruel and unusual punishment for me, and I won't subject you to much of it.  LOL!

Godfrey's political views are extremely left-leaning.  She made the statement today that under Obamacare,  the middle-class is going to have their health care paid for by the "rich." That is factually incorrect.

FUNNY CALL OF THE DAY: There was one hilarious caller today who was difficult to understand because of his heavy accent. He told Godfrey that he wanted full enjoyment (or possibly full employment); twenty-seven hour work weeks; fifteen dollar minimum wage; when unemployment went higher, work weeks should become shorter; transportation and buildings paid for by the users, and enough housing for all colleges.

Jeffchristie's Moneytalk Final Exam Question:

Posting on Silicon Investor with the alias DonLane/MisterTopes, Bob Brinker made which of the following comments about Neale Godfrey?

A)  Neale, I am the greatest woman bank president, Godfrey.

B)  Neale, I wrote more books than most people have read, Godfrey.

C)  Neale, did you buy my latest book, Godfrey.

D)  Neale, Tweet me, Godfrey.

Honey here: Very soon, I will do a recap of Bob Brinker's latest Stock Market Timing Update.

Dang, that Neal Godfrey sounded desperate trying to get people to call in.

"Please call in...we need to help...we need to share today...squak..."

Are Honeybee and I the only ones listening to her show today?

Although, I gotta get something done today so I will have to stop listening...sorry, Neal.

Oh my gosh, Joseph -- how can you leave me to be the select few to listen to this torture? LOL!

I think I'm going to gag if she says one more time how interested she is in our opinion about "getting America going again." Or how it is our show and she is just dying for us to get comfortable with a cold drink and call her.

What next? Call if you like my "come on big boy" sexy voice? LOL!!!

Bluce said...

I'm listening also, but I don't know why. I guess I got bored from watching the cumulus clouds drift by.

Honeybee said...

Oh, I'm glad to hear that Bluce.

Maybe you could call and inject something interesting in the program. :)

Bluce said...

Hi Honey.

Wow, Neale is BORING.

Honeybee said...

Bluce,

She's been so immersed in writing children's books, I think she has forgotten that Moneytalk listeners are mostly adults. LOL!

I'm Barack Obama and I approve this ad.

While reviewing some blog summaries of Neale Godfrey's appearances on Moneytalk, I found these comments by Stoxnbonds. I think he nailed it:

Her pleading for people to pick up the phone is probably a sign of how low the ratings have gotten and how little interest there is in Money Talk these days. Most of us got interested in the show back when Bob talked mainly about the stock market and was making good predictions about its direction. Those days are gone.

Honey, yes, someone should tell her that most of us aren't teenagers anymore!

And I agree -- Stoxnbonds nailed it.

I posted a comment on her Facebook page. (She was begging for people to visit her page and also visit her on Twitter.)

My comment was simply that some people were commenting about her program on this blog and that she should check it out.

It took her less than five minutes to delete it.

And she has me blocked from her Twitter feed, as does Bob Brinker, the second. Guess they don't like this me, and I am sooo very nice AND HONEST. LOL!

She's as honest as her picture that is about 30 years old.

Ten comments inside of two hours about Ms Godfrey? Is that a world record for the Beehive Buzz?

Her constant pleading for callers almost makes me wish for Lynn Jimenez.

Almost.

Honeybee said...

Birdbrain,

Did you do as she asked? "Tweet me! Tweet me! Facebook Friend me!"

LOL!

Honeybee said...

anonymous,

Please explain what archives you are looking for?

If you want the Neale Godfrey archives on this blog, just put her name into the search window at the top right side of the blog.

Frankj --

It WAS painful. I listened on-line while working at the computer this afternoon.

At one point it sounded like she referred to SPUDNIK -- at least that's how it came over the radio. And later, I think she mentioned Sputnik.

Sputnik was the Soviet satellite that kick started the space race.

SPUDNIK, on the other hand, is the Russian word for "Spud Gun" -- a bazooka-like device used by adolescents who can't get their hands on real firearms. It shoots POTATOES.

The Russkis claim to have invented it, but everyone knows it was invented here in the US.

just the regular monetalk archives like ksfo. Ksfo archives are down. Thanks

Honeybee said...

anonymous,

Oh I see what you want. I'm very sorry to tell you that KSFO's Seven Days Archives on Demand feature is down right now.

I can't imagine what is taking them so long. This is what the website says:

"Due to our recent move into the Cumulus Broadcasting Center at 55 Hawthorne, the 7-day archive is currently unavailable. Our engineering team is working diligently to migrate our servers and reconnect our automated systems, which make the archive possible. Please bear with us during this transitional period.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."

Well with an opinion to the contrary.

While I tfb despise Godfrey's frequent socialist indoctrination diatribes I find her disbursement of generalized business principles for budding entrepreneurs refreshing. She really shines in these moments and I believe she gives very well rounded answers, thoughtful insight and a realistic assessment to the callers in regard to building their business. Moreover I find she does what Da Brink does not do an asks appropriate clarifying questions to gauge the applicability of her answers.

All that being said I cannot stand listening to her socialist rants and only heard the show when I was taking a break and guzzling down water while mowing the lawn.

I take it everyone got through the Monday internet crisis OK, and none of you got misdirected to some weird site...like Brinkerbots! :)

Sure glad I missed Ms. Godfrey yesterday. Well, most of it. I did hear her in my car giving advice to an entrepreneur wannabe. Seemed like good advice, though the woman kept coming back with more and more questions. Godfrey finally got rid of her just as I pulled into Safeway's parking lot. And that was it for me on Bob's well-deserved day off!

And thanks to those who have been using the FBI computers to get online for the past year.

You are all now on the list and will be contacted. Thanks again for playing GOTCHA!

Neale Godfrey once again guest hosted "Money Talk" on July 8, 2012. That's the first time I personally heard her but within the first 5 minutes all I could think was, "Drunk on the Kool-Aid".

Gads... She is totally wasted on the liberal hish-hash of redistribution. She responded to a caller who suggested that the feds keeping the interest rate low was keeping many responsible savers, such as the elderly, from spending, since they don't have the interest cash to draw from. He suggested this was contributing to the slow recovery. Godfrey responded that if interest rates were higher then it would hurt those who have credit card debt -- OH MY GOSH!! Didn't they do that to themselves?!!! I was appalled at the entire answer she gave which essentially promoted putting the burden on those who have been responsible for bailing out those who have not. You can't get much more liberal than that.

Bob Brinker should put his foot down and BAN this woman from guest hosting his show. Appalling!

I'll letcha know when I've been contacted by the FBI. I'm thinking that will be NEVER...but we'll see.

Thanks for the mention, HB. I was amused to read that one week after Bob's "ship of fools" speech, they bring in a passenger on the "ship of fools" as a guest host. Only on Money Talk! If anyone wants to see recent pictures of Neale Godfrey, go to www.nbr.com (Nightly Business Report) and type "Neale" in the search box. Apparently, she's a master of disguise, with lots of different looks between October 2011 and May 2012.

Stoxnbonds,

I listened to a couple of the videos at the link that you posted. I was struck by the change in the way she spoke -- none of that "deep throat bedroom" affectation she uses on Moneytalk.

Also, it looks like those videos are very recent. One was in April 2012. Here is your link:

Oh my gosh. Villagers you subdue Godfrey and tie her to the stake; I'll rush home to get my matches to light the firewood at her feet.

Honey: I checked out the April 12 video of Neale (your link didn't work for me) and you're quite right: she doesn't sound anything like the woman who begged and pleaded for attention on BB's show, lol.

"I'm relevant! I know stuff about money! Call me!"

"deep throat bedroom"

Oh yeah...that is the stuff.

Honeybee said...

Is that why you like her TFB? LOL!!!!

There was only one woman caller Sunday. It was so unusual that Godfrey even commented that there was a "female caller" on the line.

The hottieBee quips:

My reply:

Yeah, use the words woman, deepthroat, and bed in the same sentence and tell me the guy who is not going to like it.

Hi - Am New blogger to "Honey's Bob Brinker Beehive Buzz", glad to find it :~)

Darn, that KSFO Archive page has been down for 9+ days and I'm about to lose the 2nd week in a row of MoneyTalk shows since I cannot download them(!). Anyone else know of any other Radio Station or Site where prior weeks shows can be downloaded?
(I like freebie downloads, OK, I'm a pnny pincher, but not for EVERYTHING ha ha)

Note: Also good is Ron Delegge's "Index Investing Show"
podcasts, do consider that one if you don't already

Cheers
